Immigration – The Reality

We’ve been told for years that immigration is beneficial to Britain, its economy and its people. Yet a Lords report has proven all the governments claims on immigration to be wildly inaccurate. Furthermore the report has acknowledged what ordinary British citizens have known for some time, that immigration has a detrimental effect on the existing population and benefits only the immigrants themselves.

powell Two weeks on Sunday will be the 40th anniversary of what is probably Britain’s most well known and controversial speech regarding immigration. Enoch Powell’s ‘Rivers of Blood speech.’ This speech is largely remembered as being a racist, and anti black speech and generally discredited as consisting of hyperbole and far right propaganda.

However, having grown up and lived in many ‘culturally diverse’ areas, and never having really given much credence to the famous speech or even heard nor read it, I find that looking it over for the first time, much of it now appears to ring true.

Enoch Powell warned that:

“…not throughout Great Britain, perhaps, but in the areas that are already undergoing the total transformation to which there is no parallel in a thousand years of English history.

Today that transformation is clear to any who wish to see it. Never before have so many residents of the nations capital been born outside of Britain. A third of Londoners were born outside of the UK, the British born population of London has been declining rapidly. 33.3% of Londoners are now classed as non white. 32.2% of those that live in Birmingham are classed as non white, in Leicester that figure is 37.4%. In Wolverhampton, where Powell was once an MP, 23.5% of his former consistency are classed as non white. This is of course a startling change in just 40 years, and certainly never seen before in Britain.

“For reasons which they could not comprehend, and in pursuance of a decision by default, on which they were never consulted, they found themselves made strangers in their own country.”

For people living in those areas during those times it was a very strange experience, going from a majority to a minority in a generation. To see a whole neighbourhood change and not just the faces, but businesses too and the whole culture of the area.

Powell also estimated that by the year 2000, there would be 5-7 million immigrants and their descendents living in the UK, making up approximately one tenth of the population. He was pretty much spot on and indeed 1 in 10 people in the UK today are non white.

Today more British born whites emigrate than ever before, hundreds of thousands per year, virtually the same rate as those coming into Britain.

“They found their wives unable to obtain hospital beds in childbirth, their children unable to obtain school places, their homes and neighbourhoods changed beyond recognition,”

There is at the moment a maternity crisis within the NHS, whether or not that is related to immigration is debatable but as the Lords report points out, immigrants may pay taxes, but like everyone else they also use the services they are entitled too. Of course immigrants tend to have lower paid jobs than British born workers.

As for schools, again there is a problem with school places, a problem that the Government keeps trying to resolve by making sure that the schools have less and less choice on pupil selection.

“…at work they found that employers hesitated to apply to the immigrant worker the standards of discipline and competence required of the native-born worker; they began to hear, as time went by, more and more voices which told them that they were now the unwanted.”

Three quarters of all new jobs in the UK over the past decade have gone to immigrants. Positive discrimination, although illegal, is rife in many organisations as they struggle to meet the quotas needed to prove that they are not ‘institutionally racist’.

Hundreds of thousands of school leavers each year discover they are unable to find any meaningful work and have little in the way of career prospects in Britain’s so called modern and dynamic employment sector. Unemployment amongst the native population continues to rise, whilst millions of immigrants arrive each year to work.

The native workforce are becoming the unwanted ones that Powell spoke of; frustrated at being unable to find work, whilst the influx of foreign workers proves there is work available, just not to them.

The story of the woman in Powell’s speech may have seemed far fetched to most people 40 years ago, but for any white people that live/lived in largely immigrant areas, or have ventured into such areas, the description will be very familiar.

“She is becoming afraid to go out. Windows are broken. She finds excreta pushed through her letterbox. When she goes to the shops, she is followed by children, charming, wide-grinning piccaninnies. They cannot speak English, but one word they know. ‘Racialist’, they chant. When the new Race Relations bill is passed, this woman is convinced she will go to prison. And is she so wrong? I begin to wonder.

Nowadays though, those children do not smile. They are much more likely to display anger and aggression than mirth. There are twice as many racist attacks against whites each year, than against non whites. Four times more whites are murdered in racist attacks each year, than any other ethnic group.

Powell was right, few white people complain for fear of being branded a racist. They just move away.

The most prophetic point that Powell made in his speech was that he believed that although many immigrants wanted to integrate, most did not. He also noted that some immigrants had a vested interest in promoting racial and religious divisions.

“…with a view to the exercise of actual domination, first over fellow-immigrants and then over the rest of the population”

_44537340_comp226_170 Repeated investigations, inquiries and think tanks have stated that there are deep divisions within British society, and that these divisions are caused by immigrants not wanting to integrate. Today’s religious extremists and home grown terrorists exemplify this. They are so far removed from ordinary Britons they see nothing wrong in wholesale cold blooded murder of them.

Many immigrant communities are so far removed from British society that they either ignore or are oblivious to British laws and ignorant of the language. Worse they bring parts of their culture, and customs that have no place in Britain or are criminals themselves.

The argument for the virtually unchecked immigration policy that Britain has at the moment is based on the fact that Britain benefits from it, but this report has shown what many in Britain today already know, those supposed benefits in reality are either hollow or non existent.

Apparently the influx of foreign workers supplements our existing workers, creates jobs and fills vacancies that would otherwise have been unfilled. The report however points out that most workers that enter Britain are unskilled and they do not fill the job vacancies, the number of which have remained the same despite the flood of workers.

The billions spent teaching immigrants English and treating diseases that are brought in such as HIV and tuberculosis could be spent benefiting British born citizens and plug the gaps in education and the NHS.

The report stated:

“There has been little or no positive impact on the living standards of the existing population.”

For those that are competing with the immigrants for the low paid jobs, it is clear that immigration is having a negative impact.

Despite all this, the Government is refusing to change its current immigration policy, Gordon Brown has already dismissed the report. I am sure that soon the usual suspects will be wheeled out to start bandying around words like racism, xenophobic and insular.

After his speech Powell became something of a pariah among the political elite, yet received widespread support from the public. A popular cry amongst the far right has been ‘Enoch was right’, yet time is proving that he may well have been.

The question is no longer whether Enoch was right, but why are successive governments ignoring the evidence about immigration?

Scots prescriptions go down, English go up!

Another example of how great devolution is, for everyone but the English who are paying through the nose for it.

pills Today in Scotland the prescription charges, which ironically is for the NHS (National Health Service), which is anything but ‘national’ anymore, went down by 25%. At the same time, the English have seen theirs rise by 25p. I can only assume that as there are 5 time more people in England than Scotland, this is to pay for the Scottish decrease?

This of course comes after the Welsh have already abolished their prescription charges. After a decade of devolution it has become clear that the only ones benefiting from this system are the ‘devolved states’, moreover it is now abundantly clear this is a one way process, England will never have its own parliament.

Apparently the amount of tax paid by the English, Scots and Northern Irish is roughly the same, even though the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish have two layers of government and the MPs serving in their devolved parliaments can earn more than the Prime Minister of the UK!

English taxpayers are facing more and more hardships, with the rising price of fuel and rising taxation, yet have to continue to stand by and watch concessions being handed out to everyone but them, all whilst paying for them!

All four parliaments are a drain on the English taxpayers, but only one actually answers to and benefits the English tax payer.

This step is just the latest in the Scottish governments long term plan to abolish prescription charges altogether. But as an English taxpayer I can’t help but wonder if the prescriptions charges for me have increased, so that the MSPs can make the decreases that they have promised the Scots.

“Mr Salmond knows he can’t get Scottish independence from the Scots alone. He needs equally short-sighted and disaffected English voters to go along with his plans. Crafty fellow.”
Michael White – Guardian.

If that is his plan, well I can only say from my point of view, that it is working. The sooner the Scots get their independence, the sooner English taxes will go down and the English standard of living will go up. Moreover we’ll be able to start using words like English, England and Englishness again, and be proud to be English, rather than British. Of course that will mean off loading another one of Europe’s poorest states, Wales.

Licensing Laws a Success

After two and a half years of the ‘new’ drinking laws, there are still people claiming that it has been a dismal failure, pointing to slight increases in certain crimes, that in all likelihood would have risen anyway, as proof of the chaos that they forecast.

These prophets of doom just can’t see that they had it wrong; they should be feeling pretty silly by now and be admitting that they perhaps were a little bit sensational. After all they did make some pretty wild claims.

Theresa MayTheresa May for instance said:

“A few government posters will not prevent the chaos that 24-hour drinking will surely bring on November 24.”

Chaos? A little melodramatic surely, the Oxford English gives the definition of chaos as:

chaos

• noun 1 complete disorder and confusion.

I am fairly sure that didn’t happen. In fact if I remember it was something of an anticlimax when the new laws came in, quite a lot like the Millennium Bug. Lots of worrying descriptions of chaos, a break down of soceity…etc – when in reality nothing changed.

Predications of increases of rapes and violence, the police and the NHS being unable to cope with the huge rise in drunken yobs and a last days of Rome scenario, all came to nothing.

The Government’s own report has said that nothing much has changed. Admittedly it hasn’t solved the problem of binge drinking, but then it was never meant to. The culture of binge drinking is going to take a generation to change. It was always likely to get worse before it got better too, so even the slight rise in drink related violence is actually better than expected.

Still there are some that just won’t admit that they were wrong, and accept that their portents of doom haven’t come to fruition. David Davies quoted some figures stating:

“The police, hospitals all say this has failed. Over a million drink-inspired violent crimes against people last year – the highest ever. Roughly a 50% increase in anti-social behaviour based on alcohol… So this is not a successful policy.”

This is more likely to be problems that are there regardless of opening hours and more to do with successive Governments being unable to combat youth problems, than the licensing laws. 24 hour drinking just makes a convenient scapegoat. The funny thing is, we had these problems before 24 hour drinking so although it may not be the cure, it certainly isn’t the cause. Gun crime and knife crime are also up, but 24 hour drinking has no real effect on this.

As for the Police and NHS, they are suffering due to under funding and mismanagement.

At the end of the day we now have a modern and sensible approach to drinking. The days of having just four hours to drink enough to get drunk have gone. Now, at last, the people of Britain can drink alcohol whenever they want, just like the rest of Europe.

Muslims demand Islamic NHS

Hospital staff told to make sure Muslim patients’ beds face Mecca five times a day

The job of the nurse used to one of caring for the sick and needy. But not – it would seem – in today’s politically-correct Britain. Now, nurses are being encouraged to spend valuable time turning around the beds of Muslim patients up to five times a day – so they can face Mecca.

You would be forgiven for thinking that the above headline is referring to a country in the Middle East, or at least some predominately Muslim country, but no, once again this is about Britain. Muslims in the UK account for less than 3% of the population, yet seem to be pandered to more than any other section of society.

Muslims do have to pray five times a day, but most do not. Even those that are very devout and pray five times every day are allowed to miss prayers in special circumstances, such as when involved in war, when working or when in hospital. This doesn’t happen in the Middle East, the nurses there do not move all the beds around five times a day, yet in Britain this seems perfectly acceptable. Britain is not a Muslim country, in fact 97% of the population consider themselves non Muslim but you wouldn’t believe it with the amount of barmy legislation going around.

The NHS already wastes millions each year on translators and making sure that signs are in all languages possible. This doesn’t happen in France or Germany or Spain. Only Britain, where 90% of the population speak English as a first language and 99% speak it fluently, has signs in several languages, just to make other cultures feel welcome.

Besides nurses have enough to do. As anyone who has spent time in any hospital will tell you, they are over stretched, under resourced and overworked. They don’t have time to dispense medication in a timely manner or turn patients over to avoid bed sores as often as they should. Yet now they are expected to ‘better understand the Muslim faith’ by moving beds around to face Mecca, 5 times a day!

It is time the Muslims, and other cultures, in the UK learned that this is a democracy, ergo majority rule. Once you start pandering to the minorities it stops being a democracy and becomes a oligarchy.

Doctors drain the NHS

Imagine this, you’re hard at work one day when in walks your boss. He gives you the worrying news that your employer is cutting back the number of hours that you work by 15%, but then smiles and tells you not to worry as you are getting a 25% pay increase! Complete fantasy? Well not quite, this is what happened to Doctors 3 years ago.

Admittedly they weren’t told to cut their hours by 15%, but they did anyway according to a new report.

Official: doctors do less work for lots more pay – Times Online

“The GPs’ Workload Survey, the first such study for 15 years, has found that after the introduction of a new contract three years ago, doctors are working on average about 15% fewer hours. During the same period pay has risen by nearly a quarter.”

More annoying is that we are constantly hearing about how tough nurses have it, how they are cutting back on midwives and nurses and making them work longer hours, now we know the reason why, they are doing the work that the Doctors are actually being paid for.

It’s not all bad though, there are some doctors with a conscience:

“Some doctors have argued that the pay rises are to the detriment of patient care because they permit GPs to work fewer hours.”

Of course if you give a section of society who already believe that they are under paid, undervalued and have a very high opinion of their own self worth, a big pay rise and the option to reduce their own hours if they need to, they are going to take it, just look at MPs.

Anyone who has tried to get an appointment to see their GP already knows that patient care is affected, you cannot book in advance, which means that you have to call in that day and won’t know whether you are going in to work or not until you’ve spent half an hour trying to get through. If you don’t get in, you have to go to work as normal and then call again in the afternoon and possibly after spending 15-20mins hitting redial get an appointment meaning you have to leave work as soon as you replace the receiver. There was a time when you could plan your life around visits to your doctor. No longer, now it is made abundantly clear that you are at their convenience not the other way about.

Doctors are meant to be paid a good wage in relation to the rest of society, but more than five times more than the average wage? Something isn’t right, particularly when doctors in Germany, a much richer country than the UK, come to Britain because they can earn up to five time more here as they can in Germany, up to £250,000.

Spending on the NHS has trebled since Labour came to power, coincidentally doctors salaries have increased by almost the same amount. No wonder the NHS is in such dire straits. Doctors should realise that they get paid what society can afford, or thinks they deserve, not what they think they deserve. If they want to decide their own salaries then they should have become MPs.
